Superintendent Dr. Moore and Board Member Tim Johnson recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to champion a cause close to our hearts: securing robust federal support for our students through the Impact Aid program.
Impact Aid is more than a funding stream—it’s a promise. Since 1950, it has helped school districts like ours overcome the financial challenges of educating students in federally impacted areas, including military bases and federal lands. It ensures local control, supports all students, and strengthens entire communities.
While in D.C., Dr. Moore and Mr. Johnson met with Congressman Vince Fong—a steadfast supporter of Impact Aid—and several Senate staffers to: 🔹 Thank Congress for recent investments in Impact Aid 🔹 Advocate for an increase in FY26 funding 🔹 Share how stagnant funding and inflation are impacting our district 🔹 Urge support for key legislation like the Impact Aid Full Funding Act and the Infrastructure Partnership Act 🔹 Encourage membership in the bipartisan Congressional Impact Aid Caucus
Their message was clear: Our students deserve fully funded schools, modern facilities, and the resources to thrive. Impact Aid is not just a budget line—it’s a lifeline.
We’re proud to have leaders who speak up for equity, opportunity, and the future of public education. 💪📚
