Dear Las Flores Families,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year.  My name is Sarah Tate and I am the principal at Las Flores Elementary School.  I would like to welcome back all returning students and families, and give a special welcome to our new students and families joining us this year.  The Las Flores Staff and I look forward to a rewarding and productive year.  Students are our top priority here at Las Flores, and we look forward to spending the year serving them.

Please take the time to read the following information, and should you have any questions, please contact our office at (760)499-1860.  Regular office hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. beginning July 24, 2024.

Ice Cream Social & Class Lists--All students and their families are invited to a Welcome Back Ice Cream Social on Monday, August 5th at 5:00 p.m.  Class lists will be posted on tables in the courtyard area.  Please come meet your child’s teacher and share some ice cream with us.

First Day of School--Classes begin Tuesday, August 6th at 8:00 a.m.  School ends at 2:15 p.m.

Kindergarten Orientation--Tuesday, August 6th at 8:00am in students’ classrooms.  The class rosters will be posted on the fence by the Kindergarten gate entrance on the Sierra View side of the school. Please see the letter for more information.

Student Supervision & Safety--In order to make sure that students have adequate supervision and are safe on campus, students may not be on campus until 7:30 a.m.  If students arrive before 7:45, supervision is available in the cafeteria.  Playground supervision begins at 7:45 (1st-5th on the “big toy” playground/main campus and TK/K on the Kindergarten playground).

DROP OFF

Where can I drop off my student so they can walk on campus unescorted by a parent?  Access the carpool area/drop off on Las Flores Ave. and pull up to the northwest area/cafeteria gate after 7:30 each morning.

Where can I park and escort my student?  Parent/visitor parking is on the east side of the campus near the office entrance.  Please sign in at the front office.  First-time visitors must provide a photo ID to run through our Raptor System.
